Seven candidates standing as Labour and Co-operative in this May’s Crawley Borough Council Elections

With nominations now declared, seven candidates have been officially registered to run as ‘Labour and Co-operative’ in this May’s Crawley Borough Council elections – the highest number in Crawley’s history and one of a record number running across the country at this year’s local elections.

Crawley’s Labour and Co-operative candidates are:

  • Dipesh Patel in Furnace Green
  • Chris Mullins in Gossops Green and North East Broadfield
  • Julian Charatan in Ifield
  • Imran Ashraf in Langley Green and Tushmore
  • Olu Adeniyi in Maidenbower
  • Peter Lamb in Northgate and West Green
  • Justin Russell in Pound Hill North and Forge Wood

Since 1927, the Labour Party and the Co-operative Party have maintained an electoral agreement which allows for candidates to stand on a joint Labour and Co-operative platform. There are over 1,200 Labour & Co-operative Councillors across the country, alongside 26 Labour & Co-operative MPs and numerous MSPs, MSs and Mayors.
