Catching up with my Twitter feed this morning I noticed that West Sussex had experienced a small earthquake on the coast last night, as Labour won its first seat on Worthing Borough Council in four decades.
A huge congratulations to Beccy Cooper for blazing a trail for Labour in Worthing and following her campaign online it was clear the party really worked hard for it.
The election in, what was, a Tory stronghold shows the changing nature of the British political landscape. Parties can no longer affordable to take groups of voters for granted and as we head into the next General Election it’s increasingly clear the British public want a new sort of politics to take the country forward.
While I wasn’t able to make it down during the by-election, it was nice to see that the campaigning training sessions I had run in Worthing with Cllr Michael Jones, this year and last, had far from gone to waste.
