The Household Support Fund is designed to help families hit by the cost of living crisis. Over the last year, the poorest households in West Sussex struggling to make ends meet received support worth £24,351,810.54 to help with food and energy costs, but with the scheme coming to an end these houreholds are now at risk.
We are all suffering with the consequences of the Conservatives’ disasterous economic decisions suppressing growth and hiking up interest rates, and over the last 14 years poverty in the UK has steadily increased. The Government seems poised to make the problem worse for the country’s poorest households.
A Labour Government will tackle poverty by delivering the economic growth the UK desperately needs for families to prosper and by tackling the underlying issues holding people back.
