If there is one thing you can do to help Labour to win it is to vote early using a postal vote. I cannot state this enough. It achieves this in several ways:
- It ensures that nothing might happen between now and Election Day which prevents you from getting to a polling station
- Studies have shown more votes are cast for Labour overall when more people register to vote by post
- It saves time on Election Day, letting us focus on reminding other voters to vote (so you won’t have us repeatedly turning up on your doorstep)
Since turning 18, I have voted by post at every election except bar one. It’s quick, easy and helps Labour win.
It’s also a great option for anyone without photo ID as you don’t need one to register or vote by post, but you do now need one to vote at a polling station (you can apply for a free photo ID using this link any time before 5pm on the 26th June).
Any unsent postal votes can be handed-in on the day at any polling station in Crawley, so there’s no risk of not having time to send it.
Around a quarter of voters in Crawley already vote by post, if you would like to join us go to https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote to download a form (a signed copy needs to be returned to the council by 5pm on 19th April, so make sure to apply early).
