Ifield May Fayre today

If you are looking for something to do with your bank holiday, you could do far worse than taking a trip down to the Ifield Conservation Area around The Plough to visit the May Fayre.

First run in 1987, the May Fayre capitalises upon the attractive historical quality of the Ifield Village, the fantastic community facility provided by the Ifield Barn Theatre and the talents of a range of local community organisations to put on a traditional village fête. I always have fun attending, even in the rain.

With the popularity of the fayre growing every year, it can get very busy, so if you do have mobility issues you may want to bring something you can perch on and please do not try parking near to the venue, as the parking situation does get pretty dire.

The fayre begins with a parade, starting at St Margaret’s School at 11am, so for the full experience it’s worth arriving early and heading to the school. The fayre opens at 11.30am with the arrival of the parade and remains active until 4pm.
