The British and World Marbles Championship returns to the Greyhound today, continuing a tradition at the site with routes as far back as Elizabeth I.
While the grandiosity of the title may well not be reflected in the level of public interest, I like to think that there’s a level of town pride in the fact that we are the home of an international competition. Just one of the many areas where, for all the attempts to talk the town down, Crawley has a lot of things worth boasting about.
It’s worth a visit at least once to say that you’ve been and, while most years theretends to be good weather, at worst you get to have a good drink at a nice pub on a bank holiday.
