The Household Support Fund is due to end this month, following the decision of the Chancellor amongst all the coverage of his Autumn Statement to quietly drop the scheme.
The Household Support Fund is an £842m fund to help families with food and energy costs. Incredibly, despite an ongoing cost of living crisis, the Chancellor has abolished the fund – cutting £24m in support for households in West Sussex.
Under the Conservatives, families in Crawley have faced 14 years of stagnation, low growth, falling wages, rising taxes and crumbling public services. Liz Truss’s disaster Budget recklessly crashed the British economy and set off run-away inflation, hammering working families further.
Crawley needs an end to the incompetence. After 14 years of failure, we badly need a plan for economic growth. Only Labour has a plan to get the UK back on its feet, to get more money flowing back into the pockets of local family, and to generate the revenue we need to deliver the services the public deserves.
